 Curriculum & Learning

The curriculum at St Leonards Primary School is progressive, ambitious and exciting.  Work builds on pupils knowledge and prepares them well for the next stage of their education.

There are key threads which feature in all curriculum areas.  These include:

- Curiosity (we encourage children to ask questions, find things out for themselves and love their study.

- Spirituality (we encourage pupils to make sense of the world they live in and develop a sense of awe and wonder at their place within our world.)

- The Fruit of the Spirit (we develop the character traits of love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control).

- Character (we expect pupils to show resilience, determination and be eager to learn.  We help pupils be the best they can be)

- Service (we seek to make our world a better place)

We follow the National Curriculum for England.

Learning within the curriculum is mapped to ensure progression and ambition for all pupils.  The following curriculum maps detail the intended learning for each National Curriculum Subject.
